Help Voicemail Indicator Won't Die!!!

I cannot get rid of the voice mail message indicator to go away. I have listened to and deleted all messages. When I tap the voice mail app. button it says "You have no voice mail messages" and when I call my voice mail, it says "You have no messages" and STILL that indicator in the upper left corner of the screen REFUSES to go away. Any ideas???

Go into apps, and clear data on the voicemail app. that makes it disappear
