Help Voicemail Nightmare (Verizon, Google Voice)

This has been an absolute nightmare and nothing I try works. I used to use GV with my old TMobile Nexus One for voicemail (my GV number) and that worked great. But since upgrading to the SGN...

Google Voice doesn't seem to want to auto-configure via Verizon, so I go online and try various activation/deactivation numbers, but nothing works. Voicemails appear in my notification bar, but regardless of whether or not I have carrier/GV selected, it goes to the same basic voicemail box but says I have no messages. I can't clear out the notifications, either.

I can't get ANYTHING working and it's driving me absolutely insane. I've tried dialing the *71+GVnumber approach, dialed *73, *90, *92, *900, *920 -- they all do nothing and just end-call immediately. I even tried ##004# or whatever it is to see if maybe it requires me to disable it with TMobile, but no dice.

I've tried fiddling around with the settings in the GV website, no dice.

I bought this phone hoping for something headache-free and I am getting just the opposite. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

When I setup GVoice initially, I got an error that said something like the device wasn't supported when it tried to go back to the VM Settings on install. However, it did show Google Voice as an option...I selected it and it's worked ever since. Maybe try a fresh install.

I had problems setting up google voice voicemail when i first got the phone. Try accessing google voice via your computer and go to settings >> phones tab then delete and re-add your cell # and go through the setup again. Everything worked fine for me after doing this. No guarantees because our problems weren't the same.
