Help Voicemail Notification

I have had my Galaxy for a few days now and for the most part, I have no complaints. With that said, How the heck to do make it show me that I have voicemail? There is no notification icon to indicate vm. I have to literally call my vm to see if there are any. How do I change this?

Thanks for the help.

well, i just got a samsung galaxy s with tmobile and the app says visual voicemail is free but....I can't activate it and tmobile wants something like 2.99 monthly for it.

Get the NOLED app. It is free. It will notify you of missed calls, voice mails, emails, texts, etx. great settings, can even have a pic of the contact as part of the notification.
