Help Voicemail problem

Yesterday I switched from the optimus V to the evo V. On my optimus I had voicemail notifications turned off in the settings menu. Apparently I had three new voicemails I hadn't listened to. I didn't know this until after I activated my new phone. Once the evo V was activated I got a voicemail notification saying I had three messages. I clicked the notification and it took me to the sprint voicemail setup. It made me set up a new voicemail account. Problem is now I constantly get a notification saying I have 3 voicemails but when I go into the voicemail these is nothing there. I think the virgin still sees that I have voicemails on their account but since this phones voicemail is handled by sprint I can't access or delete the voicemails I had before upgrading my phone. I've tried to find a setting that stops voicemail notification(like the optimus V had) but can't find it. Any ideas on what I can do. It is quite annoying having the phone constantly notify me of the 3 voicemails.

You could try calling your cell phone number with another phone, and pressing * when it gets to the voicemail. Supposedly that will ask for your pin and let you listen to the voicemail. Maybe if you do that, it will still hook you up to the old voicemails.

Thanks for the response Etegral. Just tried it and it didn't work. It only accessed the sprint voicemail.

I had the same problem, found a quick little fix though. In the settings under the call tab you can clear the voicemail notification from the top. I know you still can't access them but this should be a temporary little fix for the time being. :)

Thank you. I'd noticed that but it just keeps coming back. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem

I wonder if virgin mobile is able to delete the messages if I give the customer service number acall. I haven't had a chance to do that yet

Ugh, I finally got my Evo V, but I apparently got a voicemail I haven't listened to because my old phone died for a few days. I haven't set up the new voicemail system yet, but I'm not able to listen to the message because it only directs me to the new voicemail's set up. Were you able to fix your problem? I guess I'll have to give VM a ring...
