Void kernel

Nice spot hawker. Seems smooth and fine. Will give it a test for a few days for battery.

Like you had finger poised on 2.3.6, but likewise will wait for check rom if imminent!

Its smooth and quick, what else can I ask for? Its tough to call between this and siyah. I'll have to see how the battery performs on a full cycle. I think its going to be a case of the best battery life wins. Although I'm sure I'll never find out the answer to this as siyah will probably have a new kernel tomorrow and I'll end up flashing that half way through the cycle.

Development is being halted for the time being on this kernel so I agree with you there butty, the rate Siyah kernels get rattled out, it probably means Siyah will be on in one shape or form.

Having said this, void.echo is certainly worth keeping.

The latest version I could find to download was charlie. am I missing something? Where's echo? Do you only get this if you download the emulator and fiddle with the files/settings? Is it worth doing this?

Edit: I'm off to the opticians. It was directly below the charlie file I downloaded!

I must say this is going quite well for me currently.
It seems every bit as quick as siyah.
Battery lost 5% overnight in over 9 hours with plenty of deep sleep and no suspicious wakelocks.
No more development planned on this for the short term so I will probably still be trying out the daily siyah release, but this one is a definite keeper for me.

Was just about to post exactly the same. Seems much more stable than recent siyah and just as quick. Battery great. This is a keeper and am gonna stop trying new kernels for a while now.

Btw gabber not managed to get Bln working yet, was fine on charlie, but not with echo??

Back on siyah at the moment as was getting a few random reboots. But I think that was my own fault as I was undervolting quite a bit. So will give it another go at a later date

i get the impression others have had problem with random reboots when uv - mine are -75 across the board and not had any - were you pushing harder than that?

That's about the same as I was on. Maybe it was something to do with running it at 100-1200ghz as I think I read the kernel wasn't even supposed to support that.

My Bln module had been deleted on instal??! reinstalled. All hunky dory and lighting up like blackpool now :)

OK... I've caved in and installed Void echo.

First impressions are favourable. BLN works. Very smooth and nippy. More so than Siyah 2.3 for me.

I notice that one is not spoilt for choice on governors or schedulers by default.

Governors = lulzactive or Lionheart (not used that one before).

Schedulers = deadline and that's it!

I'm guessing that the developer has optimised this kernel to use the limited choices given. So, no bad thing there then.

How's battery life on this one? Has anyone tried u/v on this?

I knew the band waggon was missing an old timer!
I lost 5% in 9 hours overnight, so pretty good.
I'm not bothering UV etc. just using lion heart as-is.
Seems very good indeed.
Just beaware cwm5 on this one has internal sd as the default storage location unlike siyah

Hi Ironass,

Would you please tell where can I download Void .echo version as I can't locate its Post/Threads here or on XDA!!!
