Root VOIP Calling using the Same phone number

[drfreeman]

In light of the new carrier that was just released, Republic Wireless, I find the way of migrating from Wifi to cell service quite interesting. right now, I'm only using $25 a month for 300 minutes, but I'm finding out the hard way that I'm having a very hard time keeping myself under 300 minutes.

Question, is there a VOIP program, Google voice or GrooveIP for example, that I can use that can use my already existing phone number instead of creating a new one?

Get Sipdroid (sipdroid - Free SIP/VoIP client for Android - Google Project Hosting) from the market.

It will setup a pbxes.org account for you and with that tied to a google voice number you can make/receive calls with your GV number on VOIP from your handset.

but for what I'm looking for, i don't want to create a new phone number again. That just gets too hard for others to remember which number to call and etc.

Use your Google number for out going and your cell for incoming.
