Help Voltage too high

hi guyz! I am knew to this forum. Ok i use a galaxy S2, recently after charging or during charging there is this irritating pop up warning message that says that charging is paused voltage too high! Also when i want to connect via USB it says the cable is connected while its not.

I have searched the net and i see couple of S2 users have this similar problem, also i have called samsung and they have suggested i take the phone to where i bought it.

Just wanna find out whats the problem and how do i fix it (if its a DIY)? or is a software related?

It sounds hardware related to me, have you tried another cable? Could be an issue with the charging port?

I have faced the same issue and found problem with the charger.i bought a new charger and is now working fine.
