Help volume button issues

I wondered if there was any way to stop the Ally from making beeps when you hit the volume buttons. it kind of has the opposite desired effect when I'm trying to turn the ringer off.

Also, I'd like the phone to stop switching the function of the volume buttons when I rotate it. it gets reversed sometimes if it's in my pocket and the accelerometer goes off. not good.

If you need to turn the ringer completely off, you can do that from the lock screen. It turns the phone silent with one (silent) swipe from right to left.
