Volume button noise!

I have a Motorola Razr M, good phone but the volume buttons are in a spot where they get accidentally pressed all the time, and my cover makes them even more prominent. I have Volume Locker so the volume reverts automatically, but the tone every time I accidentally hit the buttons is driving me crazy. Is there a way to turn it down/off?

Thanks Thom, the question was less about the particular phone (apart from the buttons being prominent) and more about Android in general, they're all the same as far as software control etc. goes aren't they?

In any case, I've found an app called AudioManager that allows me to turn off the volume button noises and also lock the ringer volume. It had some kind of conflict with Volume Locker as far as the tone being on/off goes so I just uninstalled Volume Locker (which is now redundant anyway).

Scratch that, AudioManager stopped the noise for a bit but then it came back and can't get rid of it.
