Help Volume level on Netflix

The volume level on Netflix is very low, almost inaudible. Sliding the volume level up in the app has no effect, nor do the hardware buttons, the sound level is very low. I can just about hear it through the headphones in complete silence, making it impossible to use on a train, for example. I don't have this problem using Netflix on my mobile, only with the Nexus. Has anybody experienced the same issue and found a solution?
