Volume Rocker and return date

Ok, got a three part question.

Part 1. Has anyone had problems with the volume rocker, mine seems broke, as the down part of it doesn't register at all. I'm 99% sure it is hardware and not software as I'm rooted but still running stock.

Part 2. I got my Nexus on Day 1, Dec 15th, so I know my 30 day return window is up. Thing is, this is my 2nd Nexus, I returned the original last week for a different problem. Being a different Nexus is there any kind of return policy for it or would it fall within that same 30 day window?

Part 3. If I'm out of luck does anyone know where to buy the hardware parts so maybe I could fix the button myself? I replaced the screen on an Incredible, but haven't seen much for the Nexus yet. If I can fix it I would like to, instead of spending $100 on an assurion claim, and probably getting a refurb replacement.

Thanks for your time.

If the hardware is faulty, then it should be covered under the warranty for one year.

The factory OS needs to be intact for a warranty return though. ;)

Trust me, when I go into the store tomorrow, it will look just like it did when I walked out with it last week! Just barely activated!
