Vote for DROID enGadget!!

As an avid Engadget reader I have to say that even if the Droid comes in a close second, (5-7% or less,) I would still consider that a win in my book. The Apple fanboys on that site are ridiculous. They even had to turn off comments for a few days because of the epic flamewars, (Which made me sad because a good deal of the comments on there are very humorous).

True that. I'm generally an avid gadget blog follower (I get the feeling that as a female, this puts me in somewhat rare company), my ipod touch was my favorite gadget for years, and I've even been thinking about getting a macbook pro (by no means decided...also, I have a budget to worry about :p ). The level of apple fanboyism at all of the major gadget blogs still blows my mind. That being said, Gizmodo is worse. They actually go out of their way to stoke the commentator flames. And BGR is an unmoderated morass worthy of the internet maturity levels of the not-too-distant past.

Perhaps this is why I like it here. :D

(Bump, not a threadjack...I swear! Vote early, vote often.)

I will quote my dad in the early 80's when in grade school we had to use Apples (we had an Apple IIe, lol) and he said
"what kind of computer mouse only has one button and no actual power button?!?!"
Remember, Ctrl + Open Apple + Reset LMAO

We are soooo close on smartphone of the year.

Heh, my parents had a IIe running a DIY recording studio in our garage back when 'digital' music was still the next big thing. The phrase 'syntax error' haunted my childhood, especially as I was convinced there were games in there somewhere, if only I could figure out how to get to them.

I was 6. I didn't. :(

2K votes short, eh?...well, I guess I'll get my husband on board, for what it's worth. The thing is, we are outnumbered. Still, I'm pulling for an upset. :p

oh snap! We pulled ahead!

Too bad this is all for nothing. In the post they clearly state:
After we've checked for abuse (just say no!) we'll publish the results alongside our own Editors' Choice picks the following week. May the best gadgets win!

So even if the Droid wins.. they'll just post a statement about how the results were skewed due to exactly what people are doing here, and the iPhone will win anyway. I'm sure they'll disregard all the iPhone users doing the same thing though.

What are people doing here?

I'm referring to the clearing cookies to vote multiple times. That is considered poll abuse on pretty much any site, they can still check IPs. But by them posting that disclaimer, you can pretty much guarantee they'll find any way they can to pick whatever device will gain them more income/fans.
