Help VPN stopped working

Hi all,

Before I bug my VPN provider, I'm wondering what people think might be solution to my problem here.

First, I haven't rooted etc - so I am not using cynogen mod.

But I have been able to use my VPN (I live in China) until recently. I found that changing th keyboard entry from swype while i typed in the password and unselected the debug option meant that my VPN worked smoothly.

REcently, in the past week, this strategy has failed to succeed.

Any ideas?

I bugged my provider and they told me this:

The PPTP/L2TP servers have been blocked. This is probably temporarily due to the People's National Congress.

Unfortunately there's no alternative for Android at the moment.

Should the block persist after the PNC is finished, we'll be settings up new L2TP servers.

The world is an interesting place - especially in China.
