Help VPN ?

I want to set this up just to protect my info. Does anyone know of a app that works and doesn't charge a monthly fee?
 
You shouldn't need to pay for a VPN app, try searching Play Store for OpenVPN

However, a VPN service will probably cost you. (subscription)

Will encrypting my phone cause any problems?
 
If you encrypt the phone / sdcard it means the data will be encrypted. At the least this means that when you power on your phone, you will be prompted to enter a code to decrypt each the phone / sdcard (if both are set)

Now what I can't tell you, is in what way does the encryption work, it might be "on access" so as files are accessed they are decrypted and read, in which case most thing's won't be able to read them unless they have permission, of some sort. Hense why I suggested you look into the option.
 
Hotspot Shield VPN does the trick for me or if you really wanna remain anonymous then have you thought about going down the TOR route?
 
What kinda speed do u get mate? I only get like half a Mb/s. Its fine for Netflix though :) well worth the tiny payment :thumbup:
 
I have a 'Hide-my-ass' subscription account (I think I paid some $20 odd) for the year and it is well worth it as their servers are rock solid and there are some 70+ dotted around the world. In conjunction with VpnRoot , again a few $s, it is the perfect package for me.
