Root VVM apk download?

Neslot35

Newbie
Just recently updated to the shuji 2.5 ROM with red volt theme. Now when I try and install the VVM apk I get a green check mark but it says application could not be installed, or something close to that.

Does anyone have a VVM apk for .605 they can upload here, our have a fix to install the previous version apk?

And no I don't want to use google voice or any other voice mail app, I'm already paying for VVM and would prefer to continue to use it if at all possible.

TIA

The reason you are getting that "not installed" mesage is because you already have a version of it installed. What you will need to do is uninstall the current version so you can put in the new one.

If for whatever reason you cannot remove the old one you will have to use root explorer to rename the .apk to .bak. Which is probably your best bet becuase should something go wrong you want to have the original .apk on the phone so you can restore it.

If you have a copy of .602 on your pc you can pull the .apk from there should you need to.

That's the problem, I've searched and searched through the files and apps and can't find an installed vvm.

I don't have a .602 version with bloat to pull it from, and I'd rather not have to sbf and pull the apk that way but I guess I can if i have too.

If you're running the Shunji Rom it might be named differently than in stock GB. If that's the case I would make it easy and just contact Shunji himself and ask him what the name of the .apk is for the VVM.

This may not be the case but I have seen this. The MMS apk on MIUI is named differently than in stock GB for instance.

I know some Roms don't even support VVM. You may want to check with him to see if the Shunji Rom does.

shuji is a blur based rom, so it should have blur elements able to be reinstalled.

fabs apex, and liberty all have the ability to have vvm installed, however after using google voice, there is no reason for me to go back to vvm

To be honest I don't even use vvm so I couldn't begin to even troubleshoot it for problems. And Google voice I only really use from time to time in the car so I can keep most of my attention on the road.
