VZW Galaxy S III First Impressions

I bought the Verizon branded Galaxy Nexus back in December, and 5 replacement phones later, decided it was just not ready for prime time and should have never been released. The worst was the signal thrashing. It didn't want to capture and hold a 4G signal well, and didn't fall back to a 3G signal reliably -- not to mention the battery issues. So when the Galaxy S III became available on Thursday, I decided to buy one at full retail.

My first impression so far is that they seem to have gotten it right. It captures and holds signals very well, and even the standard battery lasts most of the day. I'm super happy. I'm interested in everyone else's opinion, especially if you are coming from the Nexus.

Only problem now is that I have two galaxy nexus lemons to get to get rid of. Ugh.

Had a nexus then went to the Slll. Activated the nexus on my second line, my girlfriends line. She went from the DROID 2 to my old nexus. The battery life on the Slll is so much better than the nexus and it never drops 4G. My nexus will not keep a 4G signal for nothing and it does not switch to 3g on the fly resulting in dropped calls and dropped data. Gonna call Verizon on the nexus and stump hard for them to replace the nexus for another Slll. It blows the nexus away in my honest opinion.

i would say my biggest disappointment (other than TouchWiz which i knew about before hand so i don't really count it) is the performance of the GS3's radios...

this thing flat out can't hold a candle to the reception on my DX...this should be obvious to most people as Moto is always top notch in this department

Better then my note but signal is worse the my atrix. I do miss my big screen but the battery life on it is way better

I'd say the signal on The GS 3 is way batter then that of the Nexus....My GNexus was horrid....it was so bad that it basically took me back to the land of fruit and had me rocking an iPhone 4s for a few months...And I'm a die hard Android head. Either way I'm back now and must say I'm really impressed with the GS3... now while it's not perfect, it sure does look like Sammy is going in the right direction.
