VZW spam?

Today I received a text message from a 900070001906 number with a message reading "Protect your Thunderbolt. Sign up for equipment coverage during this special enrollment opportunity. Protect your device from theft, loss, damage and mechanical/electrical defects after the manufacturer's warranty for a low monthly fee and applicable deductible. Choose the coverage option that is right for you by visiting Comprehensive Insurance and Post-Warranty for your Verizon Wireless Device or call 877-298-2065. Limited time offer ends July 20, 2011. Reply 'X' 2 Stop. To "Opt-Out", Reply with "Q" . Has anyone else received a message similar tothis? Is it spam or a genuine verizon message?

I got an email from them and I have not had a Thunderbolt for a few months.

Definitely spam. I have insurance on mine already so why would they send me that. Pretty questionable to me.

I got the same message (from the first line that I could read) but just deleted it without reading it.

I called them and they sent it out to all people that have a Thunderbolt, even if you already had their protection. Pretty lame if ya ask me.

Yup, I got this as an email. Didn't really pay too much attention to it, just read it over once and went on to the next email.
