Root Wait... what just happened?

Hi guys. I'm stressing here. I connected my DX to my laptop just to charge it and have it at hand. About 15 minutes later I'm in a black screen/white text:

Bootloader
30.04

Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB

What in the world is this? I tried rooting a couple weeks ago, and it didn't "take." Phone is on .596 (shipped installed from VZW)

The exact same thing happened to my phone as well (not rooted). You may have a short in the charging port (USB), or it could be just fine. My phone eventually quit charging regularly. I had to send it back to Verizon.
 
That is the bootloader on the phone. Typically you have to press and hold volume down and the camera button all the way in while pressing the power button... however, if you turn on your phone while its connected to a computer, it can also trigger this. Simply press the power button and remove the usb cable and power on till the boot animation is there, then plug it back in.

the reason your root didnt take is because there is no current method to root gb, you have to sbf back to froyo which being at that screen will help you do it, then root your froyo, and install the rooted gb
 
Okay, cool. So, will you kindly direct me to the newbie version of how to SBF from this screen, please? I really have no time to do this, but man, I need a phone before I go to work!
