I may send it back as the digitizer seems a touch wonky, but I haven't had a chance to see if it is a know problem with an easy fix, or if it is hardware. It seems like it doesn't respond close the the edges and gets a bit hypersensitive at times registering ghost touches.
Aside from that, sound is awesome, the screen is beautiful. Watching the Avengers in HD side by side with a gen 1 N7 there was a very noticeable improvement in both audio and video.

I've got new nexus 7 2013 its brilliant but touchscreen is a bit poor need another decent update I think

Knock on wood, the touchscreen has been flawless on mine. No pinch to zoom problems, no weird sensitivity...
I just received my Asus Premium Cover case - I broke down and ordered it, despite the fact that I think it's appalling that there's no closure mechanism or smart cover functionality. It's simply the thinnest case available. So the question is - will my luck with the touch screen continue to hold and allow my case to fit well, or did I use up my luck on the touch screen and I'm going to have one of the cases where a corner doesn't fit?

I have noticed that the touch screen is a bit wonky at times. No ghost touches but multitouch seems to be slow cause I have problems with typing fast and it won't register a few taps every so often. Hasn't been a deal breaker but wanting to put a custom ROM on just to see if it has been fixed by the developer community.
