Waiting for my third Droid X...

I have a couple of dead pixels in the middle of my screen. I figured verizon would give me grief about sending me out another one. Did anybody have to tell them anything special to get a replacement?
 
Waiting for my 2nd DX.

Have a blue pixel top right when watching a video, screen burn top left, and data connectivity issues. :x
 
When returning a defective DX, do you have to call Verizon at all once the return is in Fedex's hands? I just sent it back to Verizon, but I'm not sure if I have to contact them to get my refund back on my CC.

Wow, that sucks. My first replacement was new and they assured me this one would be as well.

No grief at all. I took it to a local corporate store, showed them the pixel and they ordered me a new one.

Not sure about the CC thing because they didn't charge me either time. The replacement came with a Fedex tracking number so I could make sure it got back. They said as long as it was back to them in 10 days my Verizon account would not be charged.
 
Argh,

I checked this phone up and down for the dreaded stuck pixel issues when I first got it. There was none at all.

I got it on the 25th and all of a sudden today, a bright blue dead pixel has shown up.

It's in the upper right section when in landscape mode and its totally noticeable.

Powercylced. Pulled battery, ran 2 different pixel fixes, still stuck. It did disappear for a second during jscreenfix, but came back immediately.

I called VZW up and they assured me they are sending a new one since I am well within my 30 days.

Bad news the dreaded back order situation, so I will have to wait.

update: It has now magically disappeared. I am still going to go with the replacement as the dead pixel was in a spot that was a little darker in white area's than the rest of the screen. I thought it was a backlight issue causing that spot, but to be on the safe side I am still holding out for the replacement.
 
Just got my replacement. It took one day to get, its very good, bonus they let me keep my battery, so now I have two! Nice
 
Well I received my DX today and there are no problems! YAY!

It took three times to get a good one but I still love this phone and wouldn't trade it for anything else.

IMO I rather get a refurb than a new phone because with a new phone you wont know if there will be defects or not. The red pixel when in camera mode is a software issue btw!

I would always want a new product when I pay for a new product. I know the pixel in camera mode is a software issue. The dead pixel when I was using the browser was not. :rolleyes:

My new DX also has the modified battery release. I still can't believe people where cutting it out. :confused:
 
I am waiting on my 2nd phone. My issue is that I have a dark spot on my screen AND a small chip in the screen on the RH edge... Phone is awesome tho...wife's jealous of all the time I spent with it in the last week.

Heyy the refurb is new product just sent back for fix ;) Ahh I see.

IKR? Even when it says "Do not cut" xD
 
Update: Got my replacement. I am very pleased with this one. No darkish line going across the bottom of the screen. This one also had the updated battery pull tab, so I am wondering if there is some newer manufacturing process that they are doing or something.

Even though the person who issued the replacement is a moron and assumed I had a 2 year contract and reissued the new one under a 2 year, but after a supervisor override that was fixed. Showing a 1 year contract again.
 
so i received a new phone on the 2nd after going through 3 like new devices. new one was fine until now; noticed a dead pixel yet again. tried all the fixes n no luck. ill try calling verizon tomorrow n see if ill get a new or clnr device. if not a new one ill just live with it; tired of the hassel of finding a perfect x. :/
