Help Wake up phone / Unlock

I'm coming off of 3 years with the Blackberry Storm 1 & 2 series so bare with my stupid question.

To wake up the phone / unlock it, it seems I have to push the power button every time. With my Storms, I could simply hit any button I wanted to in order to wake up the phone. Is there another way to wake up the phone besides hitting the power button every time ? It seems like I will wear the power button out pretty quickly due to this waking method.

it will be fine man....no worries. using the power to wake your phone is the way. Unless you want to root and install some custom stuff.

If rooted I can edit the ROM to wake phone using the power button OR volume up OR volume down.

You can dl an app on the market called No Lock. This allows you to wake the screen by pushing the volume button or the traditional power button. It also avoids going through a lock screen, which is why I <3 it! No root necessary.

I like no lock but I hate the bell sound when you push the volume button to open. It does't make the sound if I use the off/on button. Is there a way to stop the bell sound?

I don't have a bell sound. It must be something in the settings area you can turn off.
