Help Wallpaper file format?

Hey guys, downloaded a couple of wallpapers but they won't install on the phone.. Do they need to be in a particular file format, if so how do i convert them? They're in JPEG at the minute.

easiest thing is, load them into the gallery and set them as background from there.
