im trying to make a wallpaper from a photo but its so irritating that the phone only allows a small section of the photo to be used and its not enough. is there a way around it? i have resized and cut the photo but its not working

It should work fine if you resize the picture to 960x800 bearing in mind that it's going to cover all 7 home screens and not just the middle one.

im stuggling with this too - is there a way to set the picture/photo so that it displays fully on the main/centre screen?

cheers
dan

you need to make the image 480 wide and 800 tall, like this one
480800.jpg

then open a new canvas in paint/ps/psp gimp or something like that, and make it 960 x 800
copy and paste the original image into the new canvas, flatten the image and its done.
It'll look like this image. Import that into the phone for the wallpaper.

Of course the 'edges' can be any colour you like, or left white..if you want, pm me and Ill do it for you, once you know how it doesnt take 2 moments.

Hi. Thanks.

Is there a good setting for camera when taking
Pics of tv screen? Mine are a bit blurred. Flash is off

Cheers
Dan

I presume its an lcd tv??

Not really any settings. Just fiddle with exposure etc and try and keep a steady hand.

What you want to take pictures of the TV for?

hi JK
its a plasma :)

mmm - right - tried all sorts - cant seem to get a crisp image - looks ok in film strip preview in picture album when when you open the full size version - looks blurred - and dont ge me started on the wallpaper look! :o :D

its a shame that you cant just snap and get a decent image without lots of mucking around imo

I've taken gorgeous pictures with just the normal settings and have barely ever changed the settings so it can and for the majority of the time does take great pictures just by opening the camera and clicking away.

I often compare them to my friends with itoys and the pictures are equal if not sometimes better.

Whats bothering you about the wallpaper?

the wallpapers seem to bring out the worst in the photos i find - over stretched and lacking definition - i know it shows the pic across all the home screens, but it seems to over blow the pic - i try and select the largest part of the image as possible

coul be just new user error - have been spoilt by the simplicity of iphone i guess ;)

btw: slightly scared to ask this - but does the camera lense have a plastic cover over it? like the screen does when you first get it - ive had a look but cant see anything - although there does feel like there could be something there - might explain the duff pics :D

cheers

:p Dont be scared we don't bite...Well most of us anyways.

I think when mine came it has blue protectors on both the front and the camera lens. I would think if there is one on there it would be easily visible. The only downside of the camera is the plastic they used for the cover as it can make pictures a bit crap in the wrong conditions. There is a replacement glass cover from a German website but its about

:D thanks. Just cheap plastic lens then I think. No obvious
Covering
More practice needed then :)

I've also noticed that when i select a picture to use as wallpaper, when it comes up with the box to select the area you can drag at the corner of the box to make it bigger in order to select a bigger area of the picture as the wallpaper.

Hope that made sense!

hi - yes thanks - have tried that also - but still think it stretches it too much imo

cheers
