Root want to brick phone

thank you very much. haven't been able to OEM Unlock or change scm 0x2a to scm 0x3a that's my goal. and change vzw3g.com to vmobl.com. guess I'll have to learn Ubuntu completely to kick its ass and figure out exactly where the factory recovery img is stored. I know where mtd1.img and mtd2.img are but the factory recovery img rewrites them when it reboots even after I delete them. any help would be awesome. thanks again

Why don't you contact PG? He actually built CWM for this phone. I'm sure he would know which partition the factory recovery.img is located on.

Also you should be able to get into fastboot using adb and having fastboot drivers installed

If I remember correctly, you can't purposely get into fastboot on the OM. I know I accidentally did a couple of times when flashing recovery went wrong. There's a whole thread about getting out of fastboot in the all things root sub forum.

You can if you purposely corrupt the boot.img or recovery.img;)

It was one of the first ways they explored getting root, recovery and Roms flashed for 2.2.1. Asadullahrob and Richiedaze.
