Help Want to get rid of suggestion bar?

Hi, I have noticed while using skyfire browser that if I choose to hide the notification bar from settings menu, that when I open skyfire browser, and try to enter something in the url bar, that the Android keyboard will jump up and down every time a key is pressed, this is quite annoying as I dont want to see the notification bar when I am in a browser, but I cant easily enter anything with the keyboard while the notification bar is being hid, because every key strike makes the damn thing jump up and down.

Also is there a way to get rid of the suggestion bar entirely? I am talking about the greyish/white bar that is on top of the top row of keys on the android keyboard, some times it can be useful for suggestions things, but most of the time it is just plain annoying since I dont need a bar with suggestions blocking the already small-ish screen. I have been through the skyfire settings and the phones settings to make it so there are not suggestions checked, but the bar is still there. Sooo anyone know how to get rid of it?

U can disable the suggestion bar from your keyboard settings. Go to Settings > Language&Keyboard > Android keyboard settings > uncheck 'Show Suggestions'.

yeah, that still doesnt get rid of my suggestion bar itself, doing that will get rid of the actual suggestions it displays, but the white/grey bar at the top of the keyboard will still be there.

Really? That is odd because the white/greyish bar disappears when I unchecked mine. So I don't know why yours doesn't.

U could always download a different keyboard from the market. I never liked or use the stock android keyboard anyway.

I think that this is related to skyfire not your phone.. I have suggestions turned off on my phone yet yesterday when searching in skyfire I had the suggestions come up.

I am still having this problem. I CANNOT get rid of the suggestion bar, I switched to Go keyboard, which I like, but even in all the different settings screens, if I un-check show suggestions, it will still show them, I am talking about the bar that shows up with words as you are typing. I guess its supposed to help you type faster, but to me its just in the way. I have tried several different keyboards downloaded from the market, as well as different browsers, and tried google searching. Un-checking the "show suggestions" does not stop it from displaying. ANYONE have a clue how to fix this?
