WANTED: Someone with an Atrix 4G who can side load apps

Hi,

I need someone to test a Beta app for me. I am looking for someone with an Atrix 4G that is rooted so they can install non-market apps.

You will also need to be familiar with how PSX4droid and FPSE work.

I have 3 builds of Psx4droid from Zodttd which I have been testing for several months that utilize Open GL (Hardware acceleration) These cannot be found on the market. I will also ask that you do not distribute the files.

Open GL improves a lot of things for me on my phone but it is a N1 and rather slow compared to an Atrix. Though the beta improve somethings it seems like Open GL will have errors in it's current state on single core phones.

I want someone to test this on a few different games and give me their results. I would test it myself but I am on Tmobile :(

I am sure many have a negative idea of PSX4droid here and I would ask you to put that aside for now. I also enjoy FPSE myself but feel PSX4droid has its pluses including anti aliasing, a better user interface and partial CDDA support among others. If open GL works the way I hope on dual core phones it could mean an emulator with near perfect compatibility and speed with much better graphics quality than FPSE.

Games that even on my outdated phone which improved dramatically:

Tekken 3 is full speed
Front Mission 3 has no crashes anymore
Thousand Arms starts perfectly now
Tomb Raider 1 and 2 work partially but still have issues on my phone but I suspect better performance on dual core phones


I have noticed that I can get all games to start now just some have graphical bugs or my phone's processor is too slow. Zodttd mentioned he had better results on his Samsung Galaxy S but he is on a break for the time being and I am not sure when he will complete the development of this build...which is a shame cause I think Open GL is a huge step

I have a few testers already but can still use more. Particularly people who have used the app in the past and are willing to test the following games for me:

those are the top priority to compare results on dual core phones like the atrix so if you have one that can side load apps (root or not) please email me if you have access to these games and know how to test them on Psx4droid or even if you are just willing to learn

Mine is not Rooted and I sideload apps.

Go over to "Android Central" and search for "Sideload Wonder Machine." There is a thread with instructions.

Also, many of those games you list are copyright protected. How do you supposed people sideload copies of them without using pirated (Illegal) copies? Eh?

I own the games myself and would just like to be able to play them on my phone with an emulator. Others may as well. In any case emulators have always been such.
 
Yes, but you own them. If you provide copies for others to test, you are making ILLEGAL copies.
Not to nit pic, but that IS the law.

I suggest you use the Sideloader app I mentioned and load them on your phone yourself.

Trev wants Atrix members to test out his emulator app that requires you to sideload the app as he’s with T-mobile and is unable to test the Atrix. He has come into contact with one of the Moderators here and discussed this with him already. As you've stated Robby, it is ILLEGAL to distribute copy righted games and is against the forums rules/regulations.

Now what Trev is asking for is that if you own an Atrix AND you have the games he mentioned above AND would like to help him test their performance on his emulator app, then PM him.

Now just to clarify, please do NOT ask Trev or anyone else here or PM them requesting for a copy of the games so you can 'test'. That is against forum rules and all parties will be dealt with accordingly.

Trev, I have a rooted phone with full access to it and knowledgeable in ADB and logcats. I can help out.

PM coming your way sir. Ive attempted to contact the devs of these apps about utilizing open gl, anti aliasing, pluggins, antisotropic filtering etc but none have replied back. anyhow I dont have an atrix, I have a overclocked epic 4g which is on par with tegra 2 (per the graphic benchmarks)..
