Root Wanting to go completely factory

Hey guys, I'm wanting to unflash, unroot, and go back to completely stock/factory. This phone was given to me as a christmas gift from a friend that is big into flashing/rooting, and I just want to undo everything. If someone could provide me with some help, it would be majorly appreciated.
 
Do you have any idea what process was used to root it? I'm sure there is someone here who could help, but it might be easier to ask the person that you got it from to unroot it for you.
 
take a look at the rooting for dummies gingerbread eddition. under the unroothing tab there is whats called a ruu. look for the latest version listed. it returns everything back to stock, the only thing that matters is the hboot, but yours is more than likely supported seeing it is rooted

Not sure if you have unrooted yet, but a question either way.....why do you want to go back to stock?

If you can find out what your hboot version is, we can point you in the right direction for the unrooting process.

Power the phone off, then hold the volume down+power til the white bootloader screen comes up and let us know what your hboot version is. You might need to go to to Settings>Power and uncheck fastboot to get it to open to the bootloader.
 
Well, as far as I know, I'm back on stock ROM and what not, but for not I won't worry about the "s-off" thing, until I need to bring it in. And my issue was that I wasn't getting my 4G. And for now I'm fine with the stock stuff.

Do happen to know what Rom it had loaded in it when your 4g wasn't working? If it looked Iphone-ish it was likely MIUI and that as far as I know does not have working 4g anyway. Anything else for the most part has 4g other than a few ICS betas that are out.

Anyway, when you decide to get away from the bloat and the stock look and feel of it, we can recommend a few different ones to try out and I am sure you will like what you see. For now though, don't accept any OTA updates as it can mess up your phone.
