Root Wanting to root 2.2.2. and possibly flash rom and OC

So i hear u can root 2.2.2. now I will be doin it soon. Seems pretty simple. Already got the drivers installed. Im just not near the computer. Dont want to brick my phone but i want to possibly OC my phone to run my emulators and games a bit better. Need a lil help here
