Root Wanting to root CM7, but...

I have two issues...well, more like things that I haven't figured out yet. Firstly the in call volume as well as notification/alarm volume seemed low. I haven't tried CM7 for a few updates now and am not sure if that has even been fixed. The other thing, which probably has a very easy fix...but I haven't found it yet, is that I miss my swype. I've tried installing the swype apk as well as tried every other thing I can think of, but it never works. Anyone have some info on these two trivial things to make my life happier?

All I know is it has been quiet in the Cyanogenmod forum. I'm very excited to start using the latest batch of nightlies but I can't have a phone that I can't hear well on. Since I haven't seen any new posts in several updates either people are dealing with it or it is working a bit better.

I wonder if it is possible to use any of the hidden menu dialing codes to get some better gain on the in call volume. I may be installing the nightly 32 later tonight though.

There are nightlies every night, and they moved the CM thread to a new thread and stopped updating the old on on XDA, alot of conversation on that one.

Does anyone have any idea why google apps wouldn't install when I flash it? I've odin'd back to stock and rooted at least three times and each time I flash google apps, but it never installs.

I'm having the same issue. Any ideas on this?

I got this working... see below.

I just got it working. I toggled the toggle signature verification and toggle script asserts. i tried the gapps isntall that Azuma linked to here, and it failed with the signature verification. I turned signature verification off and left script asserts on. Ran the gapps install from clockwork mod, all looked the same during install - said it completed and was successful (as it always did before) but this time when i rebooted i was greeted with the Google setup screen.

so i guess toggling the script asserts did the trick.
