Warm battery?

I was using my phone last night while it was on the charger and i noticed that the phone itself got pretty warm. Is this normal when it's on the charger and being used? Even the front of them phone was a little warm. I figure since it was charging and i was on it this is why it happened.

I remember reading this on a manual or the back of the box, maybe? Definitely happens to me with no ill side-effects...

Just wanted to make sure....i didn't want it to affect my already poor battery life.

Yes. Even when not using the phone while it's on the charger will get it warm.
