Help "Warning!! Apps list is empty!!"

My girlfriend has an LG Venice which I rooted for her. She came to me and showed me the following popup warning box. But can't tell me what it was she was doing when error occurred.

Warning!! Apps list is empty! Go to "Settings" "Filter" and extend filter. If that does not help, the package manager in your firmware has a bug. Try to update your firmware or contact manufacturer / ROM maker.

There's a filter that will filter out what you don't want to see. (Like you know that app starts with an S but you can't remember the name - filter on S.) Clear the filter, so you see ALL the apps. If that doesn't bring the apps back, do as the phone says and contact LG.

Wipe phone or try a fix perms program. Why does the GF need root anyway? LOL

If those options aren't acceptable then the last time i checked i thought there is a thread under all things root to revert phone to previous android version. Attain root, then use an ota rootkeeper app to remain rooted. I had to do this once already. This would wipe the phone and fix if there aren't any hardware issues but, there are risks. Its a pain though.
