Help Warning Camera Failed

Ballymoss

Android Expert
Hi everybody, a few days ago my Note 2 started showing this warning and the camera has not worked since. I have tried installing Camera FX Zoom and it shows "Error Code 1 Failed to connect to Android Camera". I have Googled this problem without success as some people say it is Firmware and some it is a dislodged cable.I did drop it a while ago but only onto the carpet and it is in a silicone gel case.
My phone has all updates and is not rooted.

Edit* I did uninstall Tapatalk just before it stopped working.

Any ideas?

Thanks for replying! Stripping phones holds no real fear for me as I have repaired 2 different makes but I just wanted to get an idea of whether it was more likely firmware or loose cable before I strip my beloved Note 2. I'll have to do something soon as I didn't realise how much I relied on the camera - I am having to use my webcam at the moment but it doesn't get anywhere near the same quality.

Just to finish this thread off none of the solutions on the Web worked and dismantling it revealed no damage or loose connections. I could have bought a new camera module but if it is a firmware issue I would simply be wasting money so I have bought a Note 3 and the Note 2 goes on fleabags tonight.
