Warp or Marquee?

Okay, you guys helped me out last time when I purchased my Ultra. I'm now looking to get either the Warp or the Marquee. I know there have been issues with the Warp but I am just wondering what all of you who actually have the devices really think.

But there are other apps, so don't let it discourage you. If you plan on customizing your phone, ie rooting it, cwm, etc, there seems to be more progress on the warp, plus I've heard that the os build and the kernel build is crap on the lg

Actually the marquee is pretty far along already

I seen where they are at. I've been watching that forum too. The wife wants one, and like me, can't have an android with out it being rooted :) . Anyways, my point was that i believe we are a little farther along. Honestly i have heard both are great phones for the money, they just need some adjustments

hmm when I went into a best buy mobile store in a mall, I tried out the marquee on display and it was laggy from scrolling side to side and up and down through the app drawer. Though I think it had a better screen quality

The screen is supposed to have 16 million colors, the camera i believe, is supposed to shoot 720p video. But i haven't got a hands on yet. Best buy and radioshack haven't got them yet in my area

It's hard to give advice when you don't know exactly how a person uses their phone or what features are higher priority to them.

They both have 1GHz processors, pretty decent cameras, and run 2.3.5 Gingerbread. The Warp has about 1GB more of available internal space than the Marquee. The Warp's screen is 0.3" larger at 4.3" than the Marquee's at 4.0". The Marquee, however, has the super bright screen. It also boasts HD video. The Marquee was previously released as a postpaid contract phone on Sprint last year.

For me, personally, I never really shoot video with my phone and, while the smaller, brighter screen would have been nice (I have very tiny hands), it wasn't nearly close to being enough for me to justify spending the $100 difference in the price tags.

Does the Warp have some quirks? Yes, all smartphones do. Is it a great phone for the price you pay? I think it is.
You may also want to check out the many YouTube videos comparing the two devices.

yeah but i think nomatter how you use it your gonna be scrolling down through the app drawer.. and 1 GHz cpu? Are you sure? it seemed laggy when i scrolled through the app drawer which to me isnt a good sign.. idk

Yeah, the is definitely a 1GHz CPU, full spec list can be found here:

Also, in a hands on review, it was found that both the Marquee and the Warp had the same amount of internal storage, which was 3GB.

A friend of mine has the Marquee and while the screen seems brighter and crisper...moving around the screens was not even close to as smooth or quick at all.It just didn't seem to respond as well or with as much zip as my Warp.
Also you wouldn't think the minimal screen size difference would matter but to me it did.

I have been racking my brains over this. I just bought my warp. I cannt see paying $80.00 more for the marquee. Larger screen, less money is what sold me.

The warp and marquee both have a 1ghz proccesor, this is correct, but from what I have seen and heard the marquee has a different 1ghz processor, so yes they are both 1ghz one is an older model? If that's what I wanna use. Not "all" processors are alike, even if they are the same stamp on them ie: 1ghz.
From what I have read and seen the marquee is the older or slower of the two, which would explain the lagginess of the marquee in some areas.
I opted out for the warp because in tests it had better data speeds than the marquee.
Marquee did have 3 options I did like, dispite the slightly smaller screen size, which was: front faceting camera, useing flash in camcorder mode, ans better looking screen.
I use data a lot more than I would use the 3 combined. So for me I chose the warp.
If the marquee tested better or the same as the warp in data speeds, I would have gone for the marquee, even with the smaller screen size, besides the fact the .3 inches isn't enough to be a problem or decision maker, in my eyes anyways

It could also be the build of the kernal for the Marquee that is slowing it down so much. There are some speed tweaks in the all things root guide that apparently ake the phone much more usable. But it's never good when a phone is smly slow moving through its main home screens.

I have yet to have any problems with my Warp. The Marquee from what I read is better in 2 main areas. It has better color which is a plus if you want to read your phone in sunlight. It also has a front facing camera if thats important to you. I haven't rooted my phone though cuz I believe it creates problems. I would take some of these user problems with a grain of salt cuz I think Warp stock has no glitches now with the .0B08c update and if you don't overload your phone and add some choice applications it runs very smooth. My apps are...

Adobe Flash Player 11.1 (v11.1.111.7)
iHeartRadio (v4.1.1)
MX Video Player (v1.5a) Best free universal media player on the market
Netflix (v1.7.0 build 510)
TalkBack (v2.7.9)
TeleNav GPS Navigator (v6.1.6201406) Comes free stock if you use as Boost Mobile ID
Voxer (v0.9.6.0394) Free international calling
Winamp (v1.2.12) Free default music player

As austin316 said, there isn't really anything majorly wrong with the warp. For me it's been good for the last 3 months I have had it. I have had no issues as seen on the forums, but I also started with revision B and now C so I may not have encountered all the bugs and/or issues that may have been fixed.

As for the processors here is what I found ou digging around on google.
Warp:
1GHZ Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon s2 (assuming the 2 is revision 2 or second gen)
Marquee:
1GHZ TI OMAP3630 Cortex-a8 (also assuming that's revision 8, or 8th gen, they have a9 now which is a dual core)

So there you have it 2 different 1ghz processors.
I have yet to check on the difference in speed of the 2 though.

Best way really is to play with both same day, in close proximity or within the same time frame to get a feel as they will both probably have stock stuff, so you can test them both without the bloat of your added apps on them.

I'm glad I got my Warp. LOVE the 4.3' screen! It's a fantastic phone so far. I can use Tango & Skype and just use back camera to chat. It also supports Wifi calling

Warp has Adreno 205 GPU and the Marquee/Majestic/Optimus Black has an SGX 530. That is more likely to be the difference in responsiveness than the CPU. I find the Warp's Adreno 205 to be much nicer.

The Marquee has two extended batteries available, 3400 and 3500mAH.

You can't even find a replacement battery for the Warp except on ebay. No extended batteries available.

If I had it to do over again, I'd get the Marquee.
