Help washingtonpost.com messing up the Inc?

I use the stock News and Weather app to view headlines. Recently, I've found myself clicking on a few articles on the Washington Post website which is a computer version only, no mobile site apparently.

The Washington Post: National, World & D.C. Area News and Headlines - The Washington Post

The entire time I'm reading the article the address bar pops down as if it is constantly refreshing something on the page. Very annoying, even when I turn off my data connections.

When I hit the back button, I get the htc white screen, then it shows a blank home screen, then if slowly repopulates the screen with my icons. This happened quite consistently.

I'm going to write them about making a mobile site. But I'm interested in knowing what is causing this?

Addendum: I can type in the URL for their homepage and it will direct me to their mobile site. But I'm only going there because of an interesting headline in an app. Why is it not auto directing me to their mobile site?

Links from Google news to the WP weren't working correctly for me this morning. I haven't tried it in the last several hours to see if it's changed.
