Root watching amazon.com movies on triumph

okay its sunday will soon be sunday night and i hope to
download the ides of march for 12.99 and see it tonight.

facts

rooted stock
have rocketplayer
have hdmi
have 32 gig sd card

question

can i fownload to my phone? i dont know what format
its in so will my phone play it? anyone do this? my guess is
direct streaming is absolutely out of the question due to vm crippled
3G but i do love them. lol i actually want to enjoy my movie.
if this works or can work its a better option than hard dvds.
 
well you could download it to your computer and then move it to your phones sdcard (it would be faster that way) that is if your buying the movie. if your renting it, then it will most likely be streamed

EDIT: the triumph can play.mp4 prety much anything streamed
 
and have no internet i do everything but taxes on my triumphs huhe screen
my triumph is like ten times faster than tetheting notebook

will report back the results i kinda trust amazon more than market
the streaming is quite poor but my mom watches movies flawlessly
on her kindle :)

also, if you do download it and the movie say it cannot be played, just download a 3rd party video player from the market and use it to play it :D
 
thanks will have to delay this experiment as my mom might have
the 79 dollar amaxon prime package so ima browse the market
i hope its not true that rooted phones cant get access:)
 
update... this website will let me do all of the above...i have 32
gig sd card and download to my phone and it works without
any workarounds. more success if u download off peak hours
:D

downloaded contagion for me and puss in boots i bought but will
download later for me and my boy. it gives u a couple days
to download......awesome

hope this reminder helps someone...its also not free the movies
run about 11 bucks

I use an app called OTA root-keeper to watch Prime movies on my Kindle Fire. It temporarily un-roots the device why the movie is playing.
 
Amazon Prime movies WILL NOT WORK if you use Dolphin HD.(I haven't tried the stock web browser yet)

I run CM 7-TG-reloaded (most recent), and streaming video won't work via the aforementioned browser

yeah to have a triumph and a kindle seems a bit redundant to
me personally. i cant really bring myself to pay money
for different devices if one device will do all of the above.

and with hdmi i just saw it on 23 inch screen rather than four
inch. i try to see what one device can do well before getting more.

now in my moms case she has kindle and intercept which
is a bit different scenario then having a triumph and kindle.
but i doubt she would ever root her kindle. i am tempting
however by the facts its android and id love to get my hands
on a kindle and root it. ive never done that before. if i rooted her
kindle what benefits could she potentially get? :D

Sorry, was just giving a suggestion but I’m going to have to totally disagree with you. Don’t get me wrong I think the Triumph is a wonderful on the go device but I can’t say the features they share are comparable by any means nor do I think they serve the same purpose or function. I do use these features on my Triumph but on the subway or waiting at the doctor’s office. Can’t say if given the choice I would sit around and play games, read or surf the web on my Triumph, its good enough to get by for a portable device but it does not excel at any of these things. With that said I never actually used the stock Kindle Rom so your experience with the device may be different but still I don’t see how one could think the two fill the same role or are comparable devices. Kind of like saying you can’t justify owning an Xbox because you’re Gamboy also plays games. I can see how HDMI would be useful in a way if at a friend’s house and they have no way of say watching Netflix on their TV but I otherwise use a Linux computer I built by collecting old computers from family members hooked up to my TV and stereo as a media player and have not yet found a use for the feature. Otherwise I would say you can’t beat $200 for the hardware as Amazon is the only manufacturer in the game who is not trying to make a profit from selling the hardware.

Almost forgot, whould I look forward to sitting at my kitchen table with my Triumph on a stand sifting through currents, pulse or watching last night Colbert why I eats my breakfast at 530 in the Morning? Probably not but since Kindle ownership it's one of the highlights of my day. Not trying to glorifie one device over the other, just saying each are used to surve different purposes. That and I just get urked by snide comments.

Otherwise if you would like to watch Amazon Prime on the Triumph you could try The Amazon Video App that comes along with the Silk Port on XDA along with the OTA Rootkeeper mentioned above.
