Hey guys i just got my gnex today and i simply love it! But the only thing i wonder is is it possible to watch hd videos on youtube without wifi?
imho 3g is a lot slower now that 4g is out. my old 3g phone was quite fast when oc'd...but thats just how i feel...
3g is 3g.....doesn't matter if you have your processor clocked at 100GHZ. 3g can only push so much data.imho 3g is a lot slower now that 4g is out. my old 3g phone was quite fast when oc'd...but thats just how i feel...

but you can force HD video playback on mobile network in the settings, however, unless you really like watching the buffering animation, i wouldn't do it.
i get annoyed when my videos buffer on LTE...and that is only for like a second or 2. couldn't imagine how bad it would be on 3g
Clock at 500 then at 1.2 and you tell me which page loads faster lol...

if you're talking about youtube, its in the settings
No there is only a setting for watching it hq
Dumb question, but are you also making sure the video you're watching has an HD setting? I haven't been out of a 4G area to test, but I can when I get home to see if I can find more.
You can disable 4G on your phone to test it. Its in the mobile data settings.
Generally no, I generally have a bad time watching HD videos over 3G, so I don't even bother. Standard quality is better than nothing.
But I did try it at home, and the HD disappeared as soon as 4G wasn't available. Got a HQ option, but no HD...That does make one wonder though if there is/should be a way around it, if someone has enough bandwidth through their WiFi connection...I can see them disabling it in case a 3G connection can't support the stream, but with faster broadband speeds to households these days in many areas, it should be an option.. will have to keep an eye out...
