Help water damage help

my daughter dropped my samsung galaxy s2 into her paddling pool. I dried it out and it worked until the battery died. Now when i charge it the battery charging icon appears with a yellow warning sign and doesnt go any further than this. The battery doesnt appear to be charging and the yellow sign stays.

has anybody else had this problem and can help tell me if its my phone thats broke or the battery

thank you

Unfortunately the first thing most people want to do is to turn the phone on to see if it works. That is the last thing you should do when any electronic device gets wet. You can try the procedure ironass provided the link for, but given the symptoms I fear the charging circuit is fried. Hopefully all you need to do is purge the residual moisture from the USB port and you'll be fine, but you really do need to NOT have the phone on for a couple of days. As well as the battery, you'll want to remove the sim card and sd card in case there is any water there as well.
