Help Water Damage, HELP!!

Hey Guys,

I recently went through a very traumatic experience involving a boat, myself and my trusty Note 3. I'm sure you can figure out what happened, and I now am the not so proud owner of a water damaged Note 3. After days of drying, things are looking much better, but not perfect, that's why I'm here, hoping to get some advice.

Screen works, speakers work, buttons work, CPU and RAM appear to be functioning as normal. Wi fi works, bluetooth works, memory both SD and internal seem to be fine. The only problem seems to be the battery, not holding a charge or so it seems, and the most important thing, the SIM port. The bloody thing wont read my sim. About to teardown and clean to see if that helps, any advice?? could i simply replace the SIM port and be done??

HELP MEEE!!

Water damage is insidious, and most likely there is nothing to do apart from replace the phone. If you get it fixed there is a fair chance that something else will fail later. There is a reason manufacturers don't want anything to do with water damaged phones.

But if you want to try then maybe an alcohol bath might remove something that's causing trouble. There are some suggestions here: http://androidforums.com/threads/so...et-what-can-you-do-to-try-and-save-it.815124/. But I'm sorry to say that I am not optimistic.

Personally I'd have dried it in rice for at least a week before turning it on (and removed the battery straight away) if you didn't (for future reference)
