Help Water spilled on phone. Seems OK but one problem...

Hi,

My gf's Droid Inc got some water spilled on it yesterday. We took the battery out and put the two halves of the phone into a bowl of rice for a few hours, and then left it to air dry for a few hours longer. When I switched it back on it seemed to be working OK except for it now thinks that there's a headset/mic plugged into the jack at all times. When I plug something into/out of the jack it has no effect. The only exception to this is when I boot the phone with headphones plugged in - then it detects it correctly and the phone can be used with the headphones and the onboard mic. The phone makes/receives calls just fine and the screen seems to be correctly responsive so hopefully this is the only issue.

This sounds like some kind of hardware damage right? Is it worth me installing Android to see if that fixes it? (It has stock Verizon on it now). Any other suggestions?

Many thanks
