Waving hello

Hi everybody. I'm an android newbie, switched yesterday from the iPhone to the Inspire on the ATT network. Learning my way around my newest toy and quite shocked at some restrictions I've already encountered but...

Glad to find this forum I hope to learn a lot and maybe share something along the way.

Yeah, att enforces some restrictions, but you with root you can get around them.

Welcome!!!

Personally I'd recommend learning more about your phone and it's working before you root the device.

In terms of warranty, if AT&T determines that you have rooted the device then yes you are at risk of voiding your warranty. The challenge is that they don't have a lot of ways to make this determination at this time. If you choose to root the device, plan to restore it to stock condition before returning it to AT&T for repair/replacement.
