Way to control mic volume while shooting video?

Is there a way to raise/lower the mic gain while shooting video?

Not that I can find. I mentioned this on another post. I was at a concert last week that wasnt that loud sitting opposite from the stage and the audio was terrible when I recorded a video.Kinda makes HD (or just good quality) video is kinda useless. Also if you are doing anything active like skiing or boating cause of no wind mic setting.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I shot several videos while at a concert & the volume was just out of control garbled in the clips when viewing... The only setting for audio that I can see is whether or not to record it at all... heh.

Does anyone know if there is a way to hook up a Bluetooth or IR mic to the phone that you can pin on the subject? Remember those commercials for ones for your kids at concerts? This way you can get good quality audio from the subject.
