Root Weak Wifi Ever Since Going Back to Stock Froyo

I was running Apex 1.4 for the longest time and always had great Wifi reception regardless of where I went. I could see quite a number of my neighbors wireless networks from my house.

In preparation for the official release of GB, I went back to stock Froyo. Ever since doing so, my wireless signal has become very weak. If I'm in the same room as my wireless router, I still can't get all bars on my wireless signal. None of my neighbors wireless networks show up anymore. I upgraded to .596 GB, and there is no improvement in signal strength.

I have no idea how this can even be possible, but something definitely happened. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Did you sbf back to froyo? If you go into settings... about phone... is your baseband version 09.12P?

I did SBF back to Froyo eventually. But I started having the issue when I simply restored a nandroid backup and did a factory reset. I then did SBF, but it didn't help. After I SBF'd, my baseband version was 09.07p.

That's the radio file number all right...
Did you say you STILL have 09.07 for baseband?
You should be on 09.12 (that is the one for GB .596
The radio file may have piggybacked on your nandroid backup and replaced the 09.12 file. Thats the only logical guess I have for that.

Speaking of WiFi and of course 3g. Has anyone else gotten way better bandwidth with this new .596? I am getting nearly twice the rate off my 3g now compared to .595.

Yeah, normally my signal bars at the computer desk are between 2-3, now I have full bars and the wi--fi is like a cable connection, speed-wise

Nothing wrong with a placebo. I give my wife one every time she looks at me and says "does my butt look big in these jeans"

Haha.... whats funny is that women know when they look fat... they just need someone to be mad at for it.

Nope. My baseband is now 09.12 on GB. Something is definitely not right with it. I've never dropped my phone, so I don't think an antenna or chip got damaged.

Any other suggestions?
