Help Weather app issues

When I first got my phone it had a google search and acuweather app. When activated they were displayed on the desktop screen as an open app not a widget icon, when requires to be pressed on in order to open the widget.

I don't have that no more. I want a weather app that is open already, I don't know if there is some type of setting method that allows it to open already or I need a certain app. Anyway, I want a weather app and a google search app/widget that opens and displays itself on the desktop screen without being press. Any suggestions and tips?

To be honest bro my phone is rooted and has the sense ROM and it has the same problem. Once messing around with it I got it to work but no clue how I did it. I suggest you just get a weather app or a weather widget and trust me it works alot better. Good Luck

From what I can tell from your description, you want a weather widget that will display the weather (either current and/or a forecast) on your home screen (desktop) without requiring you to tap anything on the screen. Is this correct? If so, read on, and I will use descriptors and screenshots to a) make sure I understand what you're getting at, and b) offer you a potential solution if I'm right. I'm going to suggest you buy and download Beautiful Widgets (BW) from the Android Market. It runs between $2 and $3. I'll use bold text for each note above each picture, because big fat screenshots tend to obscure single lines of text.

The way I use BW is similar to what you currently describe. This is how it looks on my home screen (desktop). I know that blue text is hard to read, but you can change the color. It has the date, my city, the current weather (Sunny), the Hi (102), the Lo (79), and the current temp. Off to the right of course is a picture of a sun. You can apply a large variety of different skins to make this look how you want it to. What I use here is called the "Beautiful Home Weather" widget:

When I tap the sun picture, it opens up a more detailed weather report, which I can hit Back or Home to get out of:

The above two screenshots to me seem similar to what you do not want. Below is a screenshot that sounds like what you do want, which displays a weather forecast on your home screen (desktop) without having to tap/press anything at all. It is called "Beautiful Weather 4x1" (and again, you can change how the weather pictures look--sun/clouds/etc--I just like the style you see here):

There are many other widgets in different sizes and styles available with Beautiful Widgets. If you like what you see and it will satisfy your need, here's a market link (again, it's between $2-3): https://market.android.com/details?id=com.levelup.beautifulwidgets&feature=search_result

In addition to that, there is an free addon package that you can get to work with it that contains weather animations: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.levelup.bw.forecast&feature=search_result
