Help weather widget options?

1. What are the event notification options for? Is it supposed to show in the weather widget? If so, where does it pull this info from?

2. Auto scrolling?

What weather widget are you using? For example, I use HD Widgets and in the setting I can pick one of three sources (Accuweather, Weather Underground or Weather Bug.

Some widgets are tied to one source, that is why I like this one as you have a choice.
