Web Browser Updates

[trparky]

I know that many of the add-on web browsers are just a shell for the default web browser. Like for instance, Dolphin HD uses the default browser library.

Are there any updates for the default browser much like there are updates to the Gmail app the comes with that phone?

Nope, you can download Firefox or Skyfire which are diff than the stock browser which use their own servers to send data to your browser.
