Web Browsing on 7inch display

hi i'm thinking about getting a 7inch tablet. What i really want to know is how is the full web browsing experience? Do you enjoy it on the 7inch or does it get annoying?

when a page loads full screen can you read the text or do you have to zoom in? Is it better in landscape or portrait mode - I imagine the text will be bigger & clearer at full screen in landscape mode- is this true?

All answers will be very subjetives my friend. I'm happy with mine and no mather if sometimes I must use the zoom (by fortune you only need an small gesture) I think that 7" is good enough for most of uses.
For web browsing is better landscape position

Agree it comes down to user preference. It may help if you go into a store and physically check out the webpages on them. I zoom in/out more on my 7" than I do my 10" but it's not a deal breaker of any kind.
 
Well to be real honest working the web with my Galaxy Tab2 7" is not as easy as doing the same thing with my iPad2s 10" screen. I find I spend a lot of time touching the wrong things on the 7" screen and finding what I was looking at just moving off into who knows where. The 7" screens beat my iPhone 4s 3-1/2 " screen but that is not saying a lot. Things can be done on the 7" Galaxy Tab2s screen you just have to understand it's limits. Also both my Galaxy Tab2 and Apple iPad2 use my WiFi connection, but I notice the iPad2 loads web pages a lot faster then my Galaxy Tab2. But again they are not in the same class.:rolleyes:

this is the question: if you had this device in your living room and you wanted to surf the web is it adequate to quickly look something up etc or would you just go turn on your pc for better experience?

i'm not sure now- looking at the galaxy tab 8.9 & tab 2 10" hmmm its hard to decide!

I tried them in the shop but couldn't surf the web because the wifi needed a passcode. i guess i could ask them for it to try :/

I would advise you to ask for the password and try the units you'r self. all I can add is all tablets have their limits of use, they are not computers so you won't be able to do many things you do quickly on the computer on a tablet. But many times I just wish to do some checking in online forums, and having my tablet setting near by gets the job done. With a blue tooth keyboard I can also do some commenting or replying but with out a mouse it still is slower then using my computers.
 
I like web surfing (but not only that) on a 7 inch tablet much more convenient than on my 10 inch Asus transformer, which I gave to my cousin because I found it way too bulky to carry around all the time. As for typing, a 7 inch allows me to type with 2 thumbs in landscape mode while holding the device with both hands. I had to put my Transformer down to type. Reading books is also much easier holding a 7 rather than a 10 inch tablet in one hand.

Just my 2 cents of course.

Have had my Tab (my very first tablet) for about a month. I pretty much turn off my laptop for the evening now and just have the Tab to check email, play games and surf the web while fixing dinner, watch tv, etc. Love using it for recipes while fixing dinner. So much easier than my phone and more convenient than printing or using my laptop.

If I'm sitting on the couch, watching tv, I find it's perfectly fine for checking into facebook, chatting, looking things up on the web. But, these are things I previously did with a smartphone, so the 7" screen seems nice.

If I were constantly surfing the web, trying to do work, I'd probably want something bigger.
 
If I'm doing quick stuff like forums or FB the 7" is fine;even better on my 10"...both tablets have keyboard docks so I actually get a lot done.
IF I'm doing something intense like a LOT of Googling then I'll use my laptop so I can get around quicker.

Personally, I dont think you can go wrong with any size whether it 7" up to 10". I prefer the 7" when I'm out because of how pocketable it is.
 
I find browsing on a 7" enjoyable though I do have to zoom in occasionally. Its a much smoother internet experience than on my S3. Obviously 10" will be better, but it wont fit into your back pocket ;)
 
I do all my stuff at home on tablets they are WiFi only, the only thing I take with me when leaving the house is my phone and my handgun. And both are hidden. In my crime infested cow town, they see you with something of value you have a BIG problem. But if they see me and think I might have something and try me on, then they have a BIG problem.;)
 
I'm seriously considering exchanging this tab for the galaxy note 10.1. Reason being the Note 2 is eventually coming to my carrier and at 5.5" it still just as viewable as my 7" tab. I dont see it as that much smaller.

Things seem to be getting some what better with my Tab2 still not really thrilled with the sensitivity of the screen with it making changes I don't want when just zooming or panning. Maybe the Jelly Bean OS when and if it does come, will solve all the small problems I feel need addressing.:) I do like the smaller size of my Tab2.:)

By any chance did you factory reset the very first time you powered it on? That's a little trick I picked up from the forums. I do this now on every tablet I buy before installing any apps.

When I first turned my Tab2 on it did a complete update and reboot, then the other day it the same thing. As it does seem to work all is well. I just keep my iPad ready if needed.

Mine did the same thing when I first got it. Had it powered on long enough to check the version number. Then I got an update. As soon as it finished it powered off and restarted. At that time I immediately factory reset.

From the things you've posted since you've gotten your tablet it appears that you may want to do a back up and perform a FR. Seems you have strange things going on while I'm sitting here and mine flies--no matter what I throw at it.

Out of curiosity, are you having buyers remorse?
 
I upgraded to the 10.1 Tab because I wanted something bigs to read my books and magazines. In my case I loved the 7 inch, but I my boyfriend bought the 10.1 inch and ended up hating it! So I swapped with him.

Oh no I have a lot of things I buy and try out I even have a Kindal Fire along with an iPad2. The Samsung Tab2 is a very nice sized tablet that can use many programs that I can't get installed on the Kindal Fire or iPad2, I sure don't regret buying the Tab2.
