Help WebOSDoctor/ReInstall issue. Screwed up CyanogenMod. HELP!

OK...I think I"m screwed. Installed the CyanogenMod and it was running well, with the exception of wireless kicking off all the time. I thought uninstalling and reinstalling would do the trick. Not the case. Now I have the triangle with the exclamation point in it with the text www.palm.com/ROM under it.

Went to the site and downloaded the WebOSDoctor and have tried the restor. I can hold down the home/power/volume up buttons and can get into recovery mode, but when I begin the install from WebOSDoctor, it stalls out at 12% on the install. Tried it three times and same problem.

Anyone know how to completely wipe this thing clean? I really don't care about using WebOS. Just want to get back to CyanogenMod. Help, please...

Yes, you probably are. :D

According to How To Recover - WebOS Internals you should be able to Novacom after 12% so you might try that.

The usual way to fix a CM boot problem is to boot into recovery and format cache/data/Dalvik cache and reflash your rom, not jump into Novacom right away. That might make it harder.

Thanks, I've surfed and learned as much as I can about Novacom and I am able to boot into it. I found a link talking specifically about the "12%" issue when recovering using WebOS Doc and it's all Greek to me. I followed the directions as closely as possible, but I get stuck somewhere along the way. I tried the format cache/data/Dalvik cache and flash the rom and was still having the wifi issue many are facing. My goal was to totally remove the Cyanogen and install a totally clean copy. Somewhere along the way I screwed up the whole thing and now I'm sitting here with a glossy black paperweight. Thanks again for the advice. Anyone else have any ideas how to totally wipe this thing clean?

There's also some help here in the first post: [RELEASE][ALPHA2][Discussion] CyanogenMod team Touchpad port - RootzWiki

There's an acme uninstaller and these links:

I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANY OF WHAT YOU JUST SAID. CAN'T I JUST START OVER?

Sounds like you should give the "WebOS Doctor" a shot. The WebOS Doctor is a program from HP that is used, effectively, to wipe your TouchPad and reinstall the WebOS software so you can begin anew. Get more info here:

http://ws.hpwebos.co...octor/sorry.htm

The very helpful homebrew site WebOS-Internals.org also has a page that talks about how to use it:

http://www.webos-int.../How_To_Recover

DO I HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS FOR HELP?

If none of the above ideas helped, you'll have to go online for assistance.

Browse to freenode Web IRC (qwebirc) and fill out the web form. Under "Channels", put #cyanogenmod-touchpad and hopefully someone there will have some helpful advice. It is usually not necessary to preface your question with "Can I ask a question?"-- just go ahead and ask.

You may also try one of the many support forums at RootzWiki or Android & Windows Phone: Tablets, Apps, & ROMs @ xda-developers or another Android site.

To a large extent, the Android community will have to help each other as this is an unofficial, buggy release with no corporate, official, or really *any* support. Now you know the reason for all the caveats and warnings.

WebOS Doctor - 12% Issue - Fixed!!! - PreCentral Forums

Here's the link to the post that talks about the work around for the 12% freeze issue. I'll definitely check out those other links for information. Broke down and went to HP for help last night. Zero results from the trained monkeys on the other end of the phone. Still looking for a solution and would love any help you all could pass my way. Thanks!

Sorry, I doubt we have the experience that someone who has worked with HP devices would have. The pre forums would be your best bet.

I had the same issue. The fsck_dos command would not work for me either. I was able to find a command that basically reformatted the sd_card correctly. It was something like fix_dos_fs.sh. It's in the same location as dos_fsck. Just do a which dosfsck command. Anyway, ad the files system you want to fix after it.

fix_dos_fs.sh /dev/mapper/store-media

I ran this after the webos doctor froze at 12%. After running the command, I restart my touchpad, and kicked off the webos doctor again. It worked like a champ.

i hope that helps....
