Help Website Passwords Not Recognised When Entered Via Note II ?

KnewBee

Lurker
Hi

I'm having problems accessing some password protected websites via the Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Before the obvious is asked, yes I am taking care when typing it ha ha.

The passwords contain special characters (usually an !) which does appear for second in the password box before changing to an asterix, so it would appear that it's being entered correctly.

I've tried the same website on my old iPhone over the same wi-fi network and that works no problem, so I'm stumped as to why I always have an incorrect password message when using the Note.

I've tried both the Chrome browser and the default "Internet" app and neither work.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response - didn't realise that was an option.

Any recommendations?

The first one I downloaded warned me when I tried to install it that ALL entries I made it via it would be logged via that App?!?

That's a standard message that will be displayed if you ever try to use any keyboard other than stock. So long as your keyboard app is from a reputable source/company (e.g. Play Store/SwiftKey) it will be fine.

Now this may or may not help, and this might even sound crazy, but i too have had a similar problem.

for my work email. mine has a ! , then followed by a captial letter.
but for some reason, when i use !, it adds an extra character of some sorts for which i have no control over why it does this.

my solution, try inputing the password one character at a time, and see if it adds an extra behind any of them and if it does, delete the last letter and continue on with the password.
i dont know if switching to swiftkey would help but it wouldent hurt to try either lol.

Hope this helps.

Maybe it's an autocorrection problem? Normally it should temporary switch of when you are on a password entry type of inputbox. However some textboxes are not the correct type and the keyboard stays in autocorrect messing up your input and you have no idea as it's hidden.
