Help weird battery problem

Today my phone suddenly wouldnt let me use the external buttons, the home button and the power button. i then noticed the battery had nearly completely died. i just checked the battery usage graph and it shows an instant drop in power from about 55% down to zero... anyone have this issue or know what it is? Do i have a effective battery?

I would say that this is almost certainly a defective battery. This behaviour is typical of failing batteries.

If it does this again, I'd contact the supplier and ask for a replacement battery. Alternatively, you could buy one on eBay. I cannot remember how much they are but they are very cheap.

Thanks Lotus. I recharged the battery with no problems last night and hasn't had a fault today so not sure what to think...

If it happens again, I'll take it back to the phone store I bought it from.
