Help Weird Favorites widget problem

I use the HTC Favorites widget as a dialer. The widget pulls the contacts from the selected group (in my case, Favorites) and displays them in a 3x3 matrix. Recently I wanted to delete one of the contacts from the matrix (ex-gf). I went into her contact info and deleselected her from the Favorites group...but she was still in the matrix. So I deleted her from my contacts (phone and google)...she's still in the matrix...even though her contact is gone! I've also broken the link from Facebook...still there! I don't want to de-friend her from Facebook (it's an amicable separation), but I really want her face off of my Favorites widget! I've also tried removing and replacing the Favorites widget, no dice. I might try adding my contacts to a new group (VIP or something) and then re-install the widget to pull from VIP instead of Favorites, but before I do I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior?
